Terms & Conditions

Basis of Sale – By clicking on purchase at the checkout section of the website, you are undertaking to buy the Goods at the Prices indicated. An Order taken over the telephone is final once the call has ended and payment has been taken.

Samples – We have tried hard to represent our fabrics as accurately as possible on the website however, colours will vary between computer screens and this is out of our control.  We recommend that you request a free sample(s) prior to ordering unless slight differences in appearance are not important to your decision to order.

Samples are a close representation of the fabric you choose but not as an exact match as there are often very slight variations in colour between manufacturing batches. In cases where this is critical, we can arrange for a sample of the current manufacturing batch to be sent to you for your inspection and reserved for you if you wish to proceed with an order for it.

Measuring – Goods are manufactured in accordance with the measurements provided by you. Please follow the instructions on how to measure which are available on our website or in store. If you are unsure, you can call us for advice and clarification. We cannot accept returns for goods incorrectly measured by you.

Delivery

Fabric orders – Fabric held in stock will be dispatched within 48 hours of your order being placed.  Deliveries are made on a 2-day courier service.  Should you require the fabric more urgently please contact us and we will be happy to assist.

If we do not hold the required stock we will place the order with our supplier for you.  In this case fabric will be dispatched within 10 days. Sometimes delays may be experienced if our suppliers are out of stock.   If dispatch of the fabric is going to take more than 14 days from the day you place your order we will contact you to discuss the options available.

Deliveries are usually made Monday – Friday 9am -5pm and will need to be signed for.

County fabrics reserve the right to roll or fold fabric.  If you have any specific requirements please contact us.

Made to measure curtains/blinds – your Order will take approximately 4 weeks from the date shown on the order confirmation to be ready for dispatch unless a specific date has been given by prior agreement. If your chosen fabric is out of stock with our suppliers, delays may occur and we will notify you of these delays as soon as possible.

Collection – If we arrange a collection of goods from you, for whatever reason, you are required to package the goods adequately  (ideally in the original protective wrapping and box or in the best alternative you can arrange) for transport by courier. We will not be responsible for any damage as a result of poor packaging.

You will own the items we supply you from the moment they are put in the hands of the postal service, or with our carriers, or on payment in full of the price of the Goods and any delivery charge, whichever is earlier.

Cancelling Orders and Refunds/Returns – Once your order has been confirmed and part or full payment taken it is deemed non-refundable/non-returnable.

Cancelling Orders and Refunds/Returns – faulty products – We will accept returns and consider replacements or full or partial refunds if there is a significant problem with the quality of manufacture or faults with the fabric (unless you have been notified the fabric is a second i.e. with faults when no refunds, returns or cancellations will be permitted). You shall not be entitled to reject the Goods where the alleged defect or breach of contract is so slight that it would be unreasonable for you to do so.

Any claim by you that is based on any defect in the quality or condition of the Goods or their failure to correspond with the specification should be notified to us on discovery.  Any valid claim of this sort shall not be accepted by us unless made within 7 days from the date of delivery of the Goods.  In order for fabric to be returned it must not have been cut.

Important Information about buying fabric & ordering curtains and blinds

To avoid any problems with your order we recommend that you:

Order free fabric samples of your requested fabric before placing an order to ensure the colour and texture is what you require, as computer monitors vary greatly in colour and shade representation.

Fabrics such as silks and linens often have natural characteristics or marks. We will not accept returns for fabrics with these characteristics.
Fabric designs can sometimes not be entirely square. Please check your pattern match before cutting the fabric. We cannot accept returns if the fabric has been cut.

Pattern repeats can vary from roll to roll – please make generous allowances when calculating how much fabric you require. Returns cannot be accepted if the pattern repeat is within 10% of the repeat detailed on the fabric description.

County Fabrics cannot guarantee that fabrics will not shrink. Most fabrics will tend to shrink when laundered, cleaned or when subject to certain atmospheric conditions.

Check your measurements using our measuring guides to ensure that the correct sizes are ordered and are in centimetres (cm).
Please note many of our curtains and some blinds will have seams. Please see our buying guide for the impact that seams may have when certain curtain headings are used.

Fabric roll batch variations may occur. Fabric colour can vary between production batches; your sample and final product fabric may be slightly different because of this.

When sunlight shines through the lining of the curtains or blinds, this may change the colour tone of the fabric. This is not considered a fault.
Interlining blocks out more light than standard lined curtains but is not a blackout lining option.

Curtains or blinds hung in direct sunlight may fade slightly over time, so if you are hanging curtains or blinds in a very sunny place we do advise protecting your fabric by using blackout lining and for extra protection we also suggest adding an interlining.

County Fabrics’ Fabric Calculator – Our fabric calculator is designed to provide you with an approximate amount of fabric required given the information entered.  It assumes standard double fullness curtains.  Should you require anything different than this please contact us and we will be able to provide a bespoke quote.   If you are making your own curtains/blinds please ensure you order sufficient fabric and allow for slight variations (up to 10% ) in the actual  pattern repeat verses the pattern repeat advertised on our website.

Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 – The Distance Selling Regulations (which allow consumers a seven day “cooling off” period after purchasing and a right to cancel an order during this period) do not apply to “personalised goods or goods made to a consumer’s specification” thereby excluding County Fabrics’ products.

Pole and track product returns/refunds – Any pole or track products that have not been adjusted to your specifications can be returned within 7 days of receipt. Please allow 14 days from return of goods for the refund process to be completed. The products will remain your responsibility until we receive them.

Errors-our right to refuse an order – In the event that a product is listed at an incorrect price due to a technical, administrative or other reason, we reserve the right to refuse your order whether or not the order has been charged to your credit or debit card. In this instance, we will issue a credit back to your card account.

General – The Contract shall be governed by the laws of Scotland.
